Yeah so, it's been a month. Sorry guys.
It's been a good month. Christmas with family came and went, New years spent with friends and karaoke came and went, and I just got back from a trip to San Antone to the Imaging USA photography conference. There I got to make new friends and meet some of the rock stars of photography.
Colin Smith is one of the few experts in the arena of aerial drone landscape art photography. He hails from New Zealand and is a very chill guy, super approachable and friendly. I got to meet him and have a few drinks at the bar while we discussed some of the finer details of this business that we love so much. Keeping in mind that drone photography as we know it is really only 4 years old. this guy is literally writing the books on the subject! I have had a drone for 3 years and he has for 4. The difference is, he dove in head first, while I just dabbled in getting frustrated trying to fly the thing blind because my GoPro camera wouldn't stay connected to my phone once it was airborne.

Joe Glyda is one of the rock stars of commercial photography that one of his specialties is aviation photography. He has always had to go up in plane and shoot out the window or open door to capture images of a plane flying beside him. Now with the drones, it opens up the possibilities for a different way. Joe lives about 1.5 hour from me and we are wanting to try to get together and learn to fly together. How cool would that be?! He is such a great and energetic guy. Lots of fun and a great speaker too!
